One of the region's most remarkable hotels, the Tatong Tavern has gained national recognition through the released coffee table book. The work of author David Carr and photographer Ned Meldrum, Counter Meal - A Slice of Australian Life.
The Tavern is one of 32 Australian hotels featured in the 320-page publication, which seeks to celebrate top quality meals in congenial and unique atmospheres.
The spread on the Tudor-style inn includes stories on a few of the township's many characters, and details the Tavern's remarkable history. The Tavern Bar recreates the warm cosy atmosphere of a traditional English country pub, complete with log fires, comfortable seating and fabulous beer.
The Tavern restaurant boasts hearty meals most days of the week and with a diverse menu crammed solid with mouth watering food we cater to the most discerning of tastes, catering for everyone right down to the youngest members of your family.
Bar meals, pub lunches, 3 course meals accompanied by your favourite beer, wines, spirits or soft drinks.
Beers you will find on tap at the Tatong Tavern include Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, Cascade Premium Light and Pure Blonde.
A variety of other beers are offered in cans and mid neck bottles that include Boag Premium, Tiger beer from Singapore, Stella Artois from Belgium and one of Mexico's finest beers, Corona.
